The Fengtian Clique (Chinese: 奉系軍閥) is a military faction in China led by the warlord commander Zhang Zuolin. Based in Manchuria, it is the last remnant of the pre-Kuomintang Republic of China, commonly known as the Beiyang government. Though it disputes Kuomintang rule with the support of Japan, the Fengtian Clique no longer controls the Beiyang seat of government in Peking due to their defeat in the Northern Expedition, which has greatly reduced their legitimacy and power in China.
